Bowmer + Kirkland’s dedicated fit-out division, YourSpace launched its first BuildHER event in London in February 2026, bringing together women from across construction and the built environment for a morning of connection and conversation.
The session provided attendees with an opportunity to share career journeys, challenges and ambitions. A highlight of the event was an inspiring talk from guest speaker Helen Gawor. Helen spoke candidly about her career path, from working in a male-dominated subcontractor environment to holding board-level positions, offering powerful examples of what is possible through resilience, leadership and driving transformation within the construction sector.
The event was devised by Lauren Creswell, Pre-Construction Manager at Your Space, she said: “I'm incredibly proud to have launched BuildHER. I am passionate about championing women in construction and the built environment. Representation really does matter, particularly for younger generations who are deciding what a future in construction could look for them. I am looking forward to building on the success of this event over the coming months.”
