A topping out ceremony has been held at Glenbrook’s latest build-to-rent scheme, Regency Works in Leeds.
The project which will deliver 618 new homes is being delivered by Bowmer + Kirkland and has now reached a key milestone. To celebrate, project teams gathered on the roof of the scheme’s most prominent block facing Kirkstall Road, a prominent route in and out of the city centre, for the topping out ceremony.
Held on 8 April 2026, the ceremony brought together Glenbrook, Bowmer + Kirkland and the scheme’s architect, CJCT to celebrate months of hard work and dedication and to look ahead to the next phase of construction. As part of the celebration, the Glenbrook team completed a brickslip panel that will be incorporated into the main façade.
Jonathan Rockett, Project Manager at Glenbrook said: “Since 2021, the site has seen demolition works, an archaeological dig, and remediation, paving the way for our construction partners, Bowmer + Kirkland to commence in March of 2025. It’s hard to believe that just 12 months ago we broke ground. It goes without saying this a fantastic achievement by B+K and their supply chain.”
“The development would not have been possible without our funding partners, Barings, who share the same vision for Regency Works and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority - Brownfield Housing Fund, having a key role in unlocking this former brownfield site for development”
Gus Kedzior, Regional Director at Bowmer + Kirkland, said: “We are incredibly proud to have reached this significant milestone in the development of the project. The topping out ceremony has been a great opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
“We look forward to delivering a high-quality scheme that will contribute to the regeneration of this part of Leeds, bringing both homes and business opportunities to the local community, transforming this area of the city.”
The Glenbrook development is a landmark project designed to contribute to the ongoing transformation of the Kirkstall Road area, which has become a focal point for urban regeneration in Leeds. The development will provide a mix of modern residential apartments, commercial spaces, and high-quality amenities, all set within a sustainable and vibrant environment. Once completed, the project will help meet the growing demand for both housing and commercial properties in the city.
