Health, Safety and Wellbeing

What's important to us

The health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce and each person that works on our projects is paramount and we are committed to a future free of incidents, injuries, and ill health as a result of our activities.

We also aim to create a culture where everyone is valued, all views are listened to, and a safe and healthy working environment is the norm and not the exception. On every project where we are the Principal Contractor any member of the workforce has the right to stop working if they are or feel at risk.

No one will ever be asked or expected to work unsafely. We believe that nothing is so important that we cannot take the time to do it safely. All levels of our management and supervision will promote this message and pursue ways and means of making our working environments safe and healthy.

Our health, safety and wellbeing approach is managed through our Accredited ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System and operational compliance procedures are supported through industry accreditations and memberships including the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

Workforce wellbeing

Our Regional Health Safety and Wellbeing Managers are tasked to help our sites and workforce to achieve good standards. Their contact details are displayed on site and anyone can contact them directly to raise an issue or to resolve a health and safety matter.

We have over 150 Mental Health First Aiders to offer individual support and promote regular mental health and wellbeing campaigns and actively work with and support the Lighthouse Charity, an organisation which is an asset to the construction industry.
