University of Cambridge Framework success

news image

We have secured a place on the University of Cambridge Major Construction Works Framework, in the projects over £7.2m band. In tough competition against 11 other contractors, including incumbent suppliers, we were selected as one of four partners to deliver construction work for the university. This framework place gives us a great platform from which to grow our work for the University, as part of our ongoing efforts to expand operations in the Cambridge area.   Ed Sutton, Pre-Construction Director said “ We are delighted to have been selected for this framework, which allows us to make inroads into Cambridge as a region, as well as the science and technology sector associated with the University. Our high performance over many years on numerous national frameworks stood us in good stead to offer a service proposition to the university that aligned with their needs and secured us a framework place for the coming years.”   The University of Cambridge is one of the world’s oldest and most successful universities, with an outstanding reputation for academic achievement and research. It is consistently ranked among the foremost universities in the world and comprises more than 150 departments, faculties, schools and other Institutions, plus a central administration and 31 independent and autonomous colleges. Today the University sits at the heart of one of the world’s largest technology clusters, one which has created 1,500 high-tech companies, 14 of them valued at over £800 million and two at over £8 billion.   The Estates Division is responsible for the planning, development and operation of the university’s operational and investment estates. It employs 350 people and is responsible for capital and operational budgets in excess of £200m. The operational estate is one of the UK’s largest and most diverse, ranging from Grade 1 listed buildings to state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities, museums to a farm and a botanical garden.
