We are looking for North East-based companies who would like the opportunity to work with us on the new Sunderland City Hall project. is holding a Meet the Buyer event on Wednesday December 11, from 2pm-6pm, at The Beam building which stands next to the site of the new City Hall in Sunderland. Bowmer + Kirkland project staff will be available to chat with prospective contractors about the contracts available on the City Hall project. Work on site started this month and the £42 million project is due to be completed in September 2021. The civic building will be an impressive addition to the city centre and consists of two buildings joined by a central atrium and roof top pavilion. Bowmer + Kirkland’s North East Commercial Manager, Andrew White, said: “We would like to meet North East contractors who can provide us with a whole range of services including roofing and cladding, drylining and ceilings, floor finishes, joinery, brickwork, and many more. “We are looking to create a number of full time employment and apprenticeship opportunities for local people on this project and we will be aiming to spend £29m in the local supply chain” The City Hall development will spearhead the regeneration of the centre of Sunderland by accelerating the transformation of the former Vaux Brewery site and is a key element of a £500 million vision to transform the city.
