Internal promotions to main board of Bowmer + Kirkland Group

news image

Two of our regional directors have been promoted to the main board of the Bowmer + Kirkland Group. Matthew Cruttenden who heads the Southern division and Neil Brook who leads the North West team, are joining the main board of the Group from today (September 1, 2020). They will continue as regional directors of their respective divisions but will also make a major contribution to the running of the Group with their experience and reputations proving to be a great asset. Matthew joined the company as a trainee Quantity Surveyor in 1990 and within 15 years was heading our Special Projects Division. His experience spans most sectors and he has been instrumental in some of our largest and prestigious projects including Reading International Business Park, Center Parcs at Woburn and Warner Bros Film Studios and Harry Potter Visitor Attraction at Leavesden. Following a restructure in 2014, Matthew was appointed Regional Director of our Southern Region. Neil came to B+K in 1989 as a Senior Engineer - initially working across the North West region. In 2006 he too joined our Special Project Division to lead on some of our larger or more challenging schemes. He was appointed an Associate Director in 2008 and in 2012 delivered St George's Park which we built the for the FA, for which he got to the final of the Construction Manager of the Year Awards. In 2013 Neil was asked to move back to the North West and develop the region, which had been scaled back a few years before. Since his appointment as Regional Director of the North West it has grown into one of our most successful regions with an emphasis on repeat business, sector diversification and complex city centre projects for clients such as Unite, English Cities Fund, MEPC, Capital and Centric and Salford University. Recently secured projects means that he has ensured the region is in the best possible position for the future. They will both work alongside Group Construction Directors Paul Lomas and David Scorer.
