Festive fun helps give deserving children a holiday

news image

Derby Kids’ Camp is a volunteer-run charity, committed to providing free holidays for Derby’s most deserving young children. These trips provide a much-needed break for disadvantaged children, or those who will benefit from social or personal development - and also provide respite for parents or carers. Every year, the charity brings together the support of over 150 volunteers - benefiting over 300 children who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to have a holiday. Peveril Homes contacted the charity to see how staff could get involved to support the excellent work they do. Through the sale of raffle tickets to win a variety of great prizes, as well as £2 donations to take part in a Christmas jumper/decorate a hard hat day, they successfully raised the £1,170 total - and all proceeds will go directly to Derby Kids' Camp. “Derby Kids' Camp is a fantastic charity and it was great to support them at a time of year when giving and helping others is always at the forefront of people’s minds” said Alison Kendall, Sales and Marketing Director at Peveril Homes. Chris Edwards, Chairman at Derby Kids' Camp, has been delighted with the support offered by Peveril Homes and is excited to see the benefits for the children when they embark on their next adventure in 2018 - “For our children, these trips mean the world because it gives them the opportunity to experience new things, and visit places they might not otherwise have the chance to visit,” “We would like to extend a festive thank you from the children and our team of volunteers to the team at Peveril Homes for all of their valued support,” added Chris.
