Announcing our 2026 Degree Apprenticeship opening evening in Derby

news image

Our annual Degree Apprenticeship open evening will be held Derby’s Museum of Making on Thursday, 13th November 2025 at 5:30pm.

We have a wide range of construction related degree apprenticeships available for 2026 covering numerous job roles including quantity surveying, site management, site engineering, estimating, design, mechanical, electrical and building services management.

We're inviting school-leavers and their parents/carers to attend the event to gain a clear understanding of what our Degree Apprenticeships involve, explore the range of courses on offer and speak directly with both current and past apprentices and senior staff to help students gain a clear understanding of the process and determine the best path for them.

Our Degree Apprenticeship Scheme is fully funded, students will earn a full-time salary, gain hands-on experience whilst studying for a degree and will complete their course without student debt and a professional qualification.

Emma Hibbert, Commercial Manager and member of the Bowmer + Kirkland Training Board, which organises the annual careers event, said; “Our Derby open evening is a hugely worthwhile event for youngsters who are leaving school or college in 2026 or 2027 and considering a career in construction.

“Bowmer + Kirkland is dedicated to training and development, supporting staff and encouraging a diverse and inclusive workforce to ensure that everyone reaches their full potential, this combined with the exciting, high-profile projects that we work on across a wide range of sectors, makes it an excellent place to work.”

We deliver projects across a wide number of sectors and successful applicants will have a chance to play a key role in construction projects across the UK and closer to home. In the East Midlands alone we have led the construction of St George’s Park in Burton on Trent, Derby Arena and Moorways Sports Village, with more recent projects including the Nottingham Trent University’s Design and Digital Arts building and the £48.5m Vaillant Live in Derby.

Bowmer + Kirkland’s subsidiary companies Derry Building Services and B&K Hybrid Solutions will also have representatives at the event with exciting opportunities for post-16 apprenticeships.

To register attendance to the open evening please contact Bowmer + Kirkland’s HR team via email: apprentices@bandk.co.uk by Wednesday 12th November 2025.
