The Christmas crane lights have been switched on at Bowmer + Kirkland’s Albert Road site where the company’s Western team is delivering a 454 room purpose-built student accommodation scheme, lighting up the skies above Bristol whilst also raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Bristol based community charity the Park Centre.

The Bowmer + Kirkland site team, together with members of the client’s team, sub-contractors and representatives from the charity were on hand to celebrate on the night, OBR Construction Group made sure that everyone was well fed, organising a pizza van, ETS Group organised the Christmas lights and Shield Services Group added the final festive touch a Christmas tree which has taken pride of place at the site’s entrance.

“Through generous donations from our site and supply chain, plus the matched-funding from Bowmer + Kirkland, the fundraising total is now in excess of £9000. This is a brilliant achievement and testament to the generosity of our teams in support two important charities,” said Alex Reynolds, Regional Director for Bowmer + Kirkland.

Emma Greenham, Director at the Park Centre in Bristol said: “Thank you so much for the invitation to the Christmas light switch on and the generous funds that were raised. Supporting the community is always our priority and to work alongside partners like Bowmer+ Kirkland makes a huge difference.”

Sophie Jessop, Senior Relationship Manager, Teenage Cancer Trust said: ‘We are incredibly grateful to Bowmer + Kirkland for supporting Teenage Cancer Trust this Christmas with their Christmas light switch on. All funds raised will help us to ensure that no young person has to face cancer alone.”

This is the second year that Bowmer + Kirkland’s Western team, which is based in Bristol, has raised funds for charity, last year the team raised more than £6000 for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.
