Bowmer + Kirkland is now a proud supporter member of Social Enterprise UK (SEUK), the world’s largest network of businesses trading to support a mission in which they re-invest the majority of their profits toward social causes.
The company is already a supporter of numerous social enterprises through its proactive UK-wide social value initiatives, working with businesses that help to tackle homelessness, unemployment, poverty, mental health, and offender rehabilitation including; Community Wood Recycling, Kenny Waste Management Social Enterprise, and Hey Girls.
In September 2025, the Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE) formally the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) joined the growing list. The charity’s social enterprise division, which provides jobs for disabled military veterans and civilians and their families, will produce signage for the company’s ongoing work with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.
Melanie Lay, Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE), said: “We are delighted to be part of Bowmer + Kirkland’s supply chain on the DIO Framework and to see their genuine commitment to social procurement. Every order placed with our social enterprise directly supports the employment of veterans and people with disabilities, creating meaningful opportunities while delivering the high-quality signage needed for this important programme. This partnership not only strengthens our factories and the people we employ, but also shows how major contractors can deliver outstanding social value alongside exceptional project delivery.”
Julia Hellyer, Bowmer + Kirkland's Group Social Value Manager said: “Joining Social Enterprise UK solidifies Bowmer + Kirkland’s commitment to creating meaningful, long-term impact. As a construction company we believe in building stronger communities by increasing our spend with mission-led businesses which support people who face barriers or are vulnerable.
“Social enterprises are some of the most forward-thinking organisations and are driving forces for inclusion, social change and providing opportunities for marginalised groups. This partnership allows us to align with purpose-driven organisation and embed social value into the various stages of our projects.”
Sofia Nibali, Head of Membership at Social Enterprise UK, said: “It’s such a fantastic opportunity to have another high-profile supporter member join our purpose-led community. Being part of the world’s largest network of social enterprise activity means they can tap into organisations with local access and a desire to advance their social and environmental goals. It’s important for us to have these vital collaborations with businesses such as Bowmer + Kirkland to help us grow the sector through social procurement.
