All the firms are private sector companies ranked by turnover - as a simple indicator of business growth - and researchers considered accounts reported to Companies House from July 2020 to June 2021. Twelve construction-related companies made it into the top 200 but the largest sector was wholesale and retail with 41 firms listed. Top of the list was Toyota Manufacturing, with Bloor Investments in second.
