Overview

Following graduation from UMIST, Robert worked for a main contractor in London for eight years as a Site Engineer, progressing to a Contracts Manager

He joined Bowmer + Kirkland in 1975, becoming a Director in 1976.

On 1 January 2019, Robert stepped down from his duties as a Main Board Director and is now Life President of B+K.

Aside from his role at Bowmer + Kirkland, Robert has been a Local Director with Coutts, Chairman of the Prince’s Trust, Derbyshire and a Governor of Repton School. He is a Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire.

When not working, his interests include horse racing, golf, wine and supporting Derby County Football Club.
