A new police station HQ for central Derby
This project included the delivery of a new multi-functional three-storey Police Headquarters in Derby with associated siteworks, car parking, drainage and services, external works and landscaping.
The new 2408m2 design and build scheme provides administration, amenity and changing space together with an emergency call centre and will be a shared facility between the Police and Fire service authorities.
The site was adjacent to and directly interfaces with the existing Fire Station which will remain operational throughout the duration of the works. This required close liaison and cooperation with all key stakeholders to ensure continuity of essential services. The site was also accessed through an existing trade park and we took steps to ensure measures were in place to provide safe access and egress to all adjacent business properties and to maintain good and considerate relations with domestic neighbours.
Working with the novated design team prior to the contract award, our team were involved at an early stage to help develop the design, programming and logistics of the scheme in order to optimise efficiencies and to help provide best value outcomes to the customer.
