MMU Science and Engineering Building

Share project

This project delivered new research and lab spaces, bring together different departments into a hi-tech ‘superlab’ and deliver world class modern facilities to support the University’s global ambitions.

This is the largest building project ever undertaken by MMU and required the demolition of the former John Dalton West structure before the new building could start to take shape.

The £75m scheme involved a new build, 14,000 sq m, seven-storey academic building and the complex refurbishment of an existing building – the John Dalton Tower.

This is the largest construction project ever undertaken by the university and construction on the new build and the refurbishment work will take place simultaneously.
