Part of the NOMA masterplan in central Manchester, 4 Angel Square was the first development in the North West to deliver net zero carbon certified under the NABERS scheme
4 Angel Square is a 25,882m2 net zero carbon office development consisting of 10-storeys of open plan officer floor plate with plant space above, all over ground office, retail and reception spaces, and a two storey basement for amenities, plant and car parking.
The building form is split into two blocks with the upper floorplates shifting around a central pivot point on the north and south elevations. The upper block features city views towards Victoria Station with a cantilever at 7th floor. The building provides an external terrace to part of level ten. Rooftop mounted plant is concealed by a plant screen set back from the roof edge.
The colour of the building takes reference from the nearby context of Sadler’s Yard which exhibits various grey, green and blue hues, again reinforcing its connection to the surrounding NOMA listed estate.
The basement level extends beyond the ground floor footprint of the building with external landscaped podium level above. The basement consists of 56 car parking space and circulation, cycle store to house 212 cycles, locker room with individual showers, manager‘s office, bin store, sprinkler tank room, substations and switch rooms and other plant spaces.
