The charity ran a 'Name the Crane' competition which invited children at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust to enter their creative designs and suggested names.

The two winners were Georgia aged 7 who named it Klaus, and Ellis aged 11, who selected Mad Metal Max.

Our site team held a ceremony to celebrate the naming of the crane, switch its Christmas lights on and also to kick off our Western team’s ongoing partnership with the charity. The winning names appeared on the crane's large digital screen.

Alex Reynolds, Bowmer + Kirkland area manager, said: “This initiative not only highlights our commitment to giving back to the community, but also showcases the incredible creativity of the children from the children’s hospital through their imaginative designs in our crane-naming competition.

“The generous donations collected internally and from our subcontractors will help bring smiles to many individuals during their stay in hospital at Christmas. We look forward to working together with Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity in the future.”

The monies raised will go towards the Bristol & Weston Hospital Charity's Christmas appeal which will ensure all patients in the hospital receive a gift on Christmas Day.

Well done to everyone involved!
